By utilizing customer feedback and competitive benchmarking, I helped launch a one time payment flow that was easier to use. Changes to the user interface triggered positive app store feedback directly related to bill pay and ultimately reduced calls to the customer support center.

Through partnership with a research analyst, I effectively empowered business stakeholders to refocus their priority from delivering quickly to delivering with value. This project encapsulated experience research, IA documentation, and design validation to lay the groundwork for something much bigger to come.

When adopting advanced settings for new Wi-Fi technology, we thought we were sitting on an easy win. Skipping some fundamental steps in design process led to a great learning experience, and ultimately, a better product.

Apple Watch Companion App

MyChevrolet Mobile App • UX Design and Product Strategy

Working closely with product owners and customer research analysts, I helped redefine the feature list and requirements for the MyChevrolet Apple Watch App. By utilizing wearable product benchmarking, Apple’s HIG, and customer data, we successfully reduced the proposal of 20+ features down to 3. This resulted in a wearable app that was easier to navigate and use.

Working with international business leaders to stay on target while simultanesouly advocating for the end user is not easy. But that's exactly what I had to do for Subaru when I was picked up in the 9th inning to consult on the final design phases for their 2017 IHU.

About Me

Professionally

I strive to implement user-centered processes that emphasize multi-disciplinary collaboration while making data driven decisions. I have experience guiding processes, projects, and strategy as well as leading and mentoring people. My career goals are focused on finding opportunities where I can utilize both design and leadership skills to collaboratively and efficiently build great products.

I have first hand experience working on an array of digital platforms including iOS, Android, in-vehicle IHUs, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Apple Watch, Android Wear, as well as multiple web and desktop based products.

Personally

When I'm not working, I'm usually mountain biking... or taking pictures of other people mountain biking... or taking pictures of my cat... or just hanging out with my cat. My wife and I both grew up in Michigan but we now call Colorado our home. I enjoy giving back by donating my creative skills to local mountain bike advocacy groups and mentoring up and coming designers.
